Do not be afraid to speak

someone is listening.

Do not speak to much,

now you are no longer listening.

Do not be afraid to listen,

someone needs you to hear it.

Do not listen too hard,

you can no longer hear yourself.

Do not be afraid to push,

something needs to be unstuck,

Do not push to hard,

You will be dragged along with it.

Do not be afraid to act,

someone needs to be saved.

Do not act out,

you may need saved from yourself.

Do not be afraid to feel,

it may your only chance.

Do not feel too much,

or you may not be sensitive to anything.

Fire is the element that fuels me. History has revered you, housed in temples and secreted across continents. You are a tool of divination and banishment. You can be lit as a manifestation of anger, or be met from the sky in lightning. You promise warmth, illumination and the comfort of food.

Fire, you unite us in the way we describe you. Hot, dry, consuming and demanding. You do not discriminate, you burn all the same. From the homes of people to animals. Even a candle flame holds your power. After extinguished, you remain, in coal and diamonds. You continue to consume and create. Air has it’s birds, the waters it’s fish and the earth it’s burrowers. The creatures that dwell within you are the beings of legend, the phoenix and the salamanders.

Touch my skin, I am warmer than the air I inhale, the water I consume and the earth that holds me. Fire is unseen by eyes, but within.

Blessed Be.

The origins of Eostre seem vague to me in my research, but most certainly is derived from the Greeks Eos, the Romans Aurora. All relate to the seaon Spring, the rising sun and the dawn.

I have written and carried out a ritual for Ostara this year. The ritual emphasised balance. We also ritually returned a corn dolly to the earth. She was first honored at a Lammas ritual I wrote carried out, and again at Imbolc as the Bride. I’d like to tell you about the importance of Balance, that I shared in the ritual.

Here is a short meditation on Balance:

Find a comfortable position. Close you eyes. Take a few deep breaths and find your center. What are you experiencing with your eyes closed? Observe your breath. No need to change your inhalation or exhalations, simply observe your breath. What sensations are you experiencing? Temperature? Emotions? Sounds? Do you feel connected to your center in the midst of this or do you feel tossed about by your experiences? Whatever it is, it’s just fine. Simply notice it. Your thoughts may wander to place outside of this time, but when that happens, just easily bring your awareness back to your breath.  By letting go of thoughts and simply being, a space develops around you. Start to notice this space.  When your thoughts wander and you feel out of balance, favor the stillness in this space. In this space now, you still have yourself, your sensations, emotions and experiences. But now you also have stillness.  You have balance. Let us visualize things that require balance to be. Dark and Light. Justice. Good and Bad. Even a bicycle wheels must turn around for us to move forward.

Blessed Be.

Element of earth. I stand here, the creature that I am. I do not resemble the trees or beasts, but I am made of the same.

I may die alone, but will never be unmourned once returned to your embrace. In the end, all there is, is Earth. I seek your wisdom in your deep, silent caves. At the midnight hour, the northern skies sing you a song in color. It is your time, winter. Crystalline and waiting.

I grow in you, as you nurture me sweetly. Your battles with your fellow elements a distant memory. Again, will you rage with the winds and rain, or shift your mighty bones with devastating force?

Your allies still, they are. Air is your breath, water is your blood and fire is your heart. I cannot stand apart from earth. I will endure.

Blessed Be.
